CGE’s Twitch Channel is Back!

And…we’re back! It’s been a hot minute, but we’re happy to announce that we’ve relaunched the CGE Twitch channel and have a lot of fun streamy things in store for you this year. Please extend a warm welcome to Megan, our new in-house Twitch Streamer! She’s been on board with CGE since the New Year, taking time behind the scenes to plan out the next phase of our Twitch adventure. Curious about Megan? Our new expanded streaming schedule? What to expect from the channel going forward? Read on friends!

Meet Megan

Some of you might already know Megan from her Twitch channel BoardGameHouse, where she’s been streaming three nights a week since 2018 with her husband Derek and some weird guy named Stephen. (Kidding! FYI - Stephen is awesome and is also now a beloved member of CGE’s sales team — as is clearly illustrated by the fact we’re razzing him in a blog post he definitely won’t be reading at some point. Nope, not at all. Hi Stephen).

As we were about to say before getting sidetracked (thanks, Stephen), Megan’s content at BoardGameHouse is a bit different from what you’ll see on the CGE channel. It’s more focused on live playthroughs with a top down cam to see what’s going on with the board. She also wrote, filmed, and edited playthroughs and other longform content for the BoardGameHouse YouTube channel, as well.

“My vibe for streams is lovable chaos, which I have carried over from BGH. At least I hope that is my vibe, if you don’t find me lovable then it’s just chaos,” says Megan. “I always want to know how chat is doing and what is going on in people’s lives. Something we learned pretty early on on BGH is that it is less about the content you are showing and more the vibe you give…and creating a space for people to feel comfortable and feel welcomed and safe. That is what I hope to continue here on CGE’s channel.”

What’s New with the Channel?

One of the biggest changes to CGE’s Twitch channel is that we’ve expanded our streaming schedule to four days a week instead of three. You can head over to our channel on the days and times below (all in Eastern Standard Time) to catch up with Megan and a rotating crew of guests vibing, playing games, and more!

  • Tuesday (11am - 3pm)
  • Wednesday (11am - 3pm)
  • Thursday (2pm - 6pm)
  • Friday (11am - 3pm)

“Viewers can expect to generally see me make a fool of myself in some way shape or form,” says Megan. “I am very up front about loving board games, but I am not exactly great at them.”

Beyond playing games with our community, one new flavor of streaming content Megan is looking forward to sharing with you is CGE-themed craft streams! “I am not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, although I did try for a while, but I have always loved sitting down and learning a new craft,” she says. Over the holidays, Megan learned how to embroider for some family gifts, which sparked the idea. “I realized that I really enjoyed embroidery and it was easy for me to still have conversations and be present while keeping my hands busy.”

The concept of streaming embroidery on the CGE channel came up while brainstorming a replacement for puzzle streams (which we hope to bring back in the future). “I was trying to sleep and couldn’t shut the brain off, when I started thinking about how cute the CGE titles would be in embroidery and poof I got hyper focused,” says Megan.

With the CGE Twitch channel back up and running, you can expect lots more weekly content, guest appearances, and fun surprises ahead. “I am most excited about continuing to build a community and a place where people can feel safe, not judged, and happy,” she says. “Also, this is my dream job. I get to stream and talk about board games for a living. Other than performing professionally, there isn’t anything else I would rather be doing.”
