One of the cool things about owning your own board game manufacturing facility is having unrestricted access. Most people only get to experience the final result of all the hard work that goes into putting each game together, but the manufacturing process itself is quite fascinating. Curious to see how the secret sauce is made?
First: a bit of context. Last year, CGE purchased OK Oriens, the Czech factory where we’ve been producing our games for many years. Running the factory directly allows us to make improvements to the manufacturing process, and we were able to do some things a bit differently with the production of SETI as a result. It also has helped us make adjustments to account for the high demand for copies of SETI.

“Having our own factory is actually quite advantageous for us right now, because after the tremendous success at Essen with SETI, when I came here just on Tuesday directly after Essen, I said “OK, now our priority number one is to produce as many SETI as possible at least until the end of the year,’” says CGE CEO Petr Murmak. “People in the factory started calculating how many copies they are able to produce, and we found that we can produce 4,000 copies of SETI per week until, at least until the end of the year.”
During a recent trek to Prague, our in-house video content creator Eleni took a trip to the factory to take an in-depth look at the many facets that go into putting together a copy of SETI. You can watch her full video embedded below to see for yourself.
In the video you'll:
