Pictomania in a new coat and for a better price

Pictomania in a new coat and for a better price [box]We are thrilled to introduce to you the second edition of Pictomania, the favorite family game where everybody draws and everybody guesses – all at the same time!

Seven years ago, the first edition was released. In gaming, that’s a long time, so let's remind you a bit how is the game played, shall we?

The game itself consists of two simultaneous actions: drawing the one word or phrase and guessing what other players are drawing.

Is she drawing an elk or a moose? Is he drawing a pegasus or a unicorn?
These are the types of questions you will probably be asking yourself during a game of Pictomania!

When you believe you have identified what word or phrase, from the displayed word cards, another player is drawing then you place your guessing card corresponding to the number of the word face down in front of the player.

Players get points for guessing others' words correctly and swiftly. They also get points for finishing their drawing and all their guesses quickly. The points earned in each round are added up. At the end of round 4, whoever has the most points wins.

Be aware, that there's no time to draw a complex masterpiece. Players sketch the essence of the word with a few quick lines and try to guess the others' drawings while there's still time.

In case you've played the original Pictomania, you may ask, what is the difference between those two editions? Here's the summary:
This second edition of Pictomania features revised word cards with a brand new look by Toby Allen (illustrator of Cerebria: The Inside World).

One big change for this edition compared to the base game is that only three word cards are in play instead of six, allowing you to jump into each round more quickly since you don't have to read as many words to guess who might be drawing what.

Another little change is that markers which used to dry out will be replaced by pencils.
At last but not least, the box is more compact, from the previous square big one it's the smaller. All these little changes made this edition significantly cheaper.

Pictomania release is planned for Q3. First lucky players could get it at Gen Con in August for $19.95. We will also have copies to try at Origins. See you there. We are looking forward to your creations.
