2023-10-18Making Board Games, Episode 5: Codenames
After a brief SPIEL break, the CGE documentary is back—and this time, we're bringing you a special episode that's focused on one game and its family. A game that was a huge milestone in the CGE history and which exploded into becoming one of the global hits of board gaming. We're talking about Codenames.
Today, Codenames is available in two sizes (regular and XXL), each in three variants (standard, Pictures, and Duet). It had licensed versions featuring for ex. Harry Potter or Marvel. It's a browser game and a mobile app is on its way. It's the most streamed board game on Twitch and, after all those years, it still belongs to one of the most beloved and played party board games in the world.

We're proud to share, that we've recently welcomed two new wonderful people to CGE's North American team—please, meet Megan, our new in-house streamer, and Jaffer, our new events manager!
Megan will start streaming after SPIEL (but will already be active in our Twitch chat during our live streams from SPIEL), and you will be able to spot Jaffer in the near future at SPIEL, BGG.CON, and PAX Unplugged.

At this point in our journey, Czech Games Edition (CGE) was known for exclusively publishing designs from Czech authors, but we had an unwavering appetite for extraordinary games that pushed the boundaries of creativity...
We are currently in the middle of the docuseries. How are you enjoying it so far? We'll soon leave the deep nostalgia behind and enter the recent era with newer CGE games.

Exciting news for all experienced Galaxy Truckers: English copies of the new Keep on Trucking expansion have started to be available for sale in stores in the USA.
